Welcome to the Life After Five website, an online resource offering help and advice to women, their families and carers.

Survived 5 years of breast cancer?

The Life After Five website aims to advise women who have survived five years since their diagnosis and those who are coming to the end of their five years of tamoxifen treatment. This is a particularly important time as there is still a significant chance of their breast cancer returning. For women who have taken tamoxifen the five year mark is a time when women do have the option to switch to an alternative drug or seek alternative and complementary medication and it is important to look at all these options and advice before making this significant decision.

Although many women treated for breast cancer are put on tamoxifen, this is not the case for everyone and you should consult your GP/oncologist to help consider your options.

Just beginning your breast cancer journey?

The website also provides support to women who have just been diagnosed with breast cancer detailing the facts, the various types, symptoms and what happens at diagnosis.

Are you a relative or carer of someone with breast cancer?

The Ongoing Management of Breast Cancer section provides hints and tips for families and carers on how to support a friend or family member with breast cancer.
